Why You'll Love This Role This position is an integral part of the Payments and Digital Strategy team at blithequark Credit Union. As a Member Services Representative, you will be responsible for daily functions related to check processing, item processing, direct bills, and fund transfers at blithequark Credit Union. Key Responsibilities Complete data entry and balancing functions with precision and accuracy. Coordinate return items with members, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions efficiently. Assist other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related Accounting standard ledger balancing. Work on member cases/issues assigned, ensuring timely and effective resolutions. Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines, as well as Federal Banking laws. Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks. Review, examine, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products. Log, report, and make necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns. Process Stop Pays and Check Batching accurately and efficiently. Complete daily balancing and department closing tasks with attention to detail. Obtain information from members for the timely and correct processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests. Research and confirm incoming and outgoing fund transfer information. Communicate with vendors to process fund transfers smoothly. Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming fund transfer laws and regulations. Deposit check returns, research member bad checks on draft changes, process member checks, confirm members for outgoing fund transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing fund transfers. Complete daily processing of workflows associated with late returns, supply of receipts, foreign collections, and legal fees. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, with intermediate Excel and Word skills. Preferred Qualifications: Previous customer/member service experience, previous banking or Credit Union experience, and familiarity with Episys/Symitar and processing wires. Skills and Competencies The ideal candidate will possess: Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) through work experience or training and hands-on use. Ability to work extended hours in support of business needs. Ability to exercise excellent customer service skills. Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and function as an integral part of a team. Ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze data. Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines under high-volume pressure. Ability to cross-train and perform any role assigned within the department. Ability to interact professionally with all personnel and members. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Ability to self-motivate with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
