Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy team. As a Pharmacy Administration Representative, you will provide phone support to patients receiving life-supporting specialty drug treatment. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your exceptional communication skills to collaborate with patients, insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of specialty drug orders. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and process new and existing patient drug orders, including verifying and updating benefits, and resolving any issues that may arise. Assist patients in interpreting and entering new or refill prescriptions into our pharmacy data system, handling copay collections, obtaining authorizations, and working with insurance companies and healthcare providers to resolve any clinical or billing issues. Provide empathetic and genuine care to patients, ensuring that their needs are met, and their expectations are exceeded. Collaborate with internal teams to monitor, identify, and resolve any issues that may impact the timely fulfillment of specialty drug orders. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, orders, and issues resolved. Required Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's Degree in a related field. An active IL Pharmacy Technician License or willingness to apply for an IL Pharmacy Technician License. At least one year of experience in a customer-facing role, handling complex customer needs via phone. Proficiency in Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office, web navigation, and email applications. Excellent keyboarding skills, with the ability to type accurately and efficiently. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of benefits, insurance, medications, and medical terminology. Familiarity with pharmacy operations, including mail-order pharmacy processes and procedures. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues in a timely and efficient manner. Empathy and compassion, with a genuine desire to provide exceptional patient care and support. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high volume of phone calls and patient interactions. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
