The blithequark Choice Science + Mix (DDSI) association is responsible for supporting clients across blithequark, including the blithequark Parks, Experiences, and Products segment, which encompasses Parks and Resorts both domestic and international, Consumer Products, and blithequark Brand Experiences, as well as the blithequark Entertainment segment, which includes Studios Content, General Entertainment Content, and ESPN and Sports Content. Job Overview The Information Engineering group at blithequark is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to manage the development and sustainment of products for our Media business. As a Data Engineer at blithequark, you will be responsible for various data engineering activities, such as maintaining and improving data acquisition processes, data validation processes, ETL/ELT data pipelines, and overall process alerting strategies. Your expertise will play a crucial role in driving business value and shaping business decisions through data analysis and innovation. Key Responsibilities Gather data requirements and create source-to-target mappings Develop and review data validation scripts and data pipelines Design and execute database schema/tables/views and deliver datasets as input to science models and representations Monitor and optimize ETL/ELT data pipelines Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Decision Science Products, Decision Science, Client, and Technology colleagues Utilize technologies such as SQL (primarily Snowflake and PostgreSQL), Python, Docker, Gitlab, and Windstream to fulfill job responsibilities Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and maintenance Proven knowledge and expertise using Python and SQL (ideally with Snowflake) Experience with developing in a multi-environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and DEVOP practices for code organization/development Experience creating and maintaining automated job schedulers Solid understanding of relational database design and functionality Preferred Qualifications Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar Proficiency in cloud architecture and product offerings, ideally AWS Experience managing and deploying code using a source control product like GitLab/GitHub Experience using Docker Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for growth and development.
