As a key member of our Medicare documentation and appeals processing unit, you will play a vital role in ensuring the preparation and submission of documentation to various Medicare contractors, as well as guiding audits through the levels of appeal for resolution. Key Responsibilities In this critical role, you will be responsible for a range of tasks that require strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. Your key responsibilities will include: Gathering and preparing all necessary documentation for audit submission, while continuing to pursue additional documentation and correction requests as needed. Preparing and submitting audits to various Medicare contractors, ensuring timely and accurate processing, and following the audit through the levels of appeal for resolution. Communicating Medicare policy and procedures to field and staff employees, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance and understanding. Adjusting Accounts Receivable (A/R) in accordance with Medicare policy, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with regulatory requirements. Serving as a backup when other employees are out, providing coverage and support to maintain seamless operations. Working assigned Audit Delivery System reports, analyzing data, and identifying trends or areas for improvement. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in data entry, audit resolution, or a related field, preferably in a healthcare or Medicare environment. Strong knowledge of Medicare policies and procedures, as well as excellent understanding of audit processes and appeal procedures. Proficiency in data entry software and systems, with high accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with field and staff employees. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Experience working with Audit Delivery System reports and analyzing data to identify trends or areas for improvement. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly in relation to Accounts Receivable (A/R) adjustments. Certification in a related field, such as Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC). Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
