About Our Data Infrastructure Groups We have several focus areas within our data infrastructure groups, each critical to our mission of delivering exceptional entertainment experiences. These include: Database Access Platform : This team builds and operates a flexible query gateway that facilitates data abstractions to work at sub-millisecond latencies, enabling Netflix microservices to more easily store, consume, and manage their data. Data Platform Infrastructure : Acting as a platform for our own data platforms, this team's shared infrastructure and tooling enable Netflix to rapidly innovate in providing cutting-edge data and analytics systems to the rest of the company without needing bespoke platforms for each new system. Data Ingestion and Processing : Offers a decoupled self-service cleared path product to enable diverse client personas across Netflix to meet their low-latency data ingestion and processing needs, enabling abstraction over complex streaming structures like Kafka and Flink, and offering a graph-driven processing experience. Big Data Figure : Responsible for providing the cloud-native platform for distributed data processing at Netflix, supporting batch data processing in Data Platform, and offering sub-second latency for a specific class of queries using Druid. Big Data Solution : Provides the platform for scheduling, orchestrating, and executing big data jobs and workflows in a self-serve way, including primary services that have all ETL and ML tasks running on Big Data Frameworks at Netflix. Job Responsibilities and Requirements We are looking for talented individuals to join our teams as Data Entry and Information Management Specialists. The ideal candidate will have: 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems features or applications. Proficiency in the design and development of RESTful web services. Experience in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems. Knowledge of Java or other object-oriented programming languages. Familiarity with multi-threading and a willingness to tackle associated challenges. A BS in Computer Science or a related field. In this role, you will be responsible for: Contributing to the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure platforms. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and technical program managers. Applying your programming and analytical problem-solving skills to solve real business needs at scale. Architecting and building robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure. Driving contributions to Netflix's open-source software (OSS) and engaging with open-source communities.
