As a Data Entry Specialist at blithequark, you will play a critical role in entering patient information into our software program, accessing various electronic medical records systems, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients. Key Responsibilities Accurately enter patient information into our software program, ensuring data integrity and compliance with HIPAA regulations Access various electronic medical records systems, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to strict privacy protocols Provide a high level of customer service, responding to client inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner Safeguard and protect patient privacy, ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to medical information and that all releases of information are in compliance with company policy and HIPAA regulations Participate in education and training programs to maintain current knowledge of corporate compliance, role-specific functions, and tasks Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: Experience in a medical records office environment, although not required, as we provide comprehensive training Computer literacy, with a general working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to type 50+ words per minute with high accuracy Focused on delivering high-quality work, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a remote setting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to teamwork and collaboration Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Previous experience in data entry, medical records, or a related field Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and healthcare software applications Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements Certification in medical records or a related field, such as Certified Medical Records Technician (CMRT) or Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) Physical Requirements This role requires: Ability to sit or stand for long periods, with manual dexterity and strength sufficient to enter information via computer keyboard Physical ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. of materials, with eyesight sufficient to effectively read documents and view information on a computer monitor Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to effectively communicate, with eye/hand coordination, hearing, and visual acuity necessary for day-to-day tasks Information Governance Accountabilities As a Data Entry Specialist at blithequark, you will be expected to: Develop a high-level understanding of the organization's information governance program and role-specific accountabilities Demonstrate a thorough understanding of role requirements, including policies, procedures, and processes Commit to discussing questions and recommendations about processes and any observed variations in performing tasks Participate in education and training programs to maintain current knowledge of corporate compliance and role-specific functions HIPAA/Compliance At blithequark, we are committed to maintaining the privacy and security of patient, employee, and volunteer information.
