We are now seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Entry Specialist to join our Details and Analysis group, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of sports information on our platforms. Job Overview This is a part-time/full-time job in the Details and Analysis group within blithequark, where you will be responsible for guaranteeing the accuracy of sports information (scores, schedules, standings, rankings, etc.) on our stages around the world. As a Data Entry Specialist, you will work with automated data feeds and utilize manual data entry to ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and intelligent sports information. You will also aid in transforming data into storylines, recognizing statistical events that help explain why a team won or lost. Key Responsibilities Ensure sports information disseminated by Details and Data is accurate, timely, and insightful. Work in individual settings and in groups to deliver accurate detailed breakdown, clock-and-score, and different measurements and data in real-time that power a multitude of blithequark products and productions. Create and maintain an active knowledge of Details and Data's role in fueling blithequark digital products and television productions. Check the results of one's own work and that of others; perform with a consistently high level of attention to detail. Contribute to production, operations, and initiatives across the newsroom, and assist newsroom leaders who are coordinating full-and part-time staff. Anticipate potential issues, both daily and long-term, and offer possible solutions. Communicate rapidly and clearly with stakeholders on these issues. Play a proactive role in working with stakeholders in developing or refining production processes. Be an active participant in team and department meetings. Seek and respond to feedback around private performance. Stay informed regarding current office policies and procedures. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of the games. Full schedule availability, which will include evenings (solely), weekends, and holidays. Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports information that drives blithequark digital and television products. Ability to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production circumstances. Ability to communicate confidently - verbally and in writing - to production managers and peers about production issues and opportunities, often through the noise of a busy newsroom. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: 1+ years' experience working in sports or statistics, ideally in media. Knowledge of how sports information is used in media and for research purposes. Working knowledge of blithequark products and productions. Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products. Experience leading or mentoring a team. Ability to speak and write Spanish. Experience using social media in a business or news environment. Education A higher education degree or equivalent is preferred for this role.
