Job Summary As the Head of Data Science and Analysis in our Item Association team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping item and technology roadmaps, driving analysis support for all data science initiatives, and fostering a culture of experimentation. Reporting to the Central Item Officer's organization, you'll be responsible for leading a high-performing analysis team, driving business results through data-driven insights, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous item improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a high-performing analysis team, scaling the team efficiently according to current plans. Identify and recruit top talent, provide mentorship and training, and define the team's goals and objectives in alignment with the company's overall strategic direction. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of item features, marketing efforts, and customer engagement, and identify opportunities for item improvements and efficiency gains through data analysis, experimentation, automation, and technology enhancements. Utilize advanced analytics techniques to extract meaningful insights from large datasets, influencing item development, marketing strategies, and design enhancements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Item and Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Finance, to drive business outcomes and foster a culture of experimentation. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: 5+ years of experience in leading item and customer analysis, experimentation, and insights within top-tier technology companies, preferably in e-commerce. 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, building and driving data science and analysis teams. A proven track record of delivering successful insights, driving business results, and continuous item improvement through data-driven approaches and experimentation. Strong proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Python, R/SAS, SQL, Tableau, Power BI). Experience working cross-functionally with teams like Item and Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Finance. Previous C-level/Executive Board exposure and experience contributing to and having in-depth conversations with C-level stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications will set you apart: Experience in a global retail or e-commerce environment. Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in data science and analysis. A strong understanding of customer behavior and market trends.
