Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Data Scientist, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement AI and ML models that can predict, analyze, and prescribe solutions to complex problems. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that have a direct impact on the business, and you will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs. This is a remote position, and you will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement AI and ML models that can predict, analyze, and prescribe solutions to complex problems Work closely with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs Develop models using AI, deep learning, and other similar technologies to predict and analyze data on hardware and software systems within a large server infrastructure Support processes related to the implementation of systems into production, including integration of purchased solutions Design, code, test, debug, and document AI and ML models and solutions Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement AI and ML solutions that drive business success Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in AI and ML Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following essential qualifications: 2+ years of experience in AI with domain knowledge and experience in the following areas: data-driven statistical modeling, discriminative techniques, feature extraction and analysis, supervised learning 2+ years of experience in a programming language such as Python, R, SQL, etc. 2+ years of experience in data extraction, wrangling, visualization, and analysis Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field Strong understanding of AI, data mining, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related field Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications The following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Experience handling data from multiple sources and through big data platforms (such as GCP, AWS, etc.) Experience building scalable AI models and solutions Experience investigating and implementing statistical models, AI algorithms, or other customized solutions that demonstrate significant impact in solving complex business problems Experience optimizing existing data pipelines by investigating unstructured data sources and designing new features Ability to offer technical support and expertise to the broader team Graduate degree or higher in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related quantitative field; or equivalent working experience Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following skills and competencies: Strong technical skills in AI, ML, and data analysis Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data sets Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders Strong understanding of industry trends and developments in AI and ML Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits Aetna is committed to the growth and development of its employees.
