About the Job As an early member of the Data Scientist team in the Applied Product group at blithequark, you will play a pivotal role in establishing the data-driven product development culture for either consumer products or developer platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include defining north-star metrics, designing initial A/B tests, and establishing source-of-truth dashboards that the entire organization can use to answer their product questions. You will be a core member of the product development team, building the company's first-party offerings. Key Responsibilities Embed with the product development team as a trusted partner, uncovering new ways to improve the product and drive growth. Design and interpret A/B tests that help answer critical questions about the impact of model and UX changes to the product. Establish a data-driven product development culture by leading the definition, tracking, and operationalization of feature, product, and company-level metrics. Develop and socialize dashboards, reports, and other tools to enable the team and company to answer product data questions in a self-serve manner. Essential Qualifications To thrive in this role, you should have: 4+ years of experience in a quantitative role exploring highly uncertain environments, ideally as a founding data scientist or product expert at a hyper-growth product company or research organization. Proposed, designed, and executed thorough experiments with clear insights and product recommendations using SQL and Python. Defined, implemented, and operationalized new feature and product-level metrics from scratch. Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate with product managers, engineers, and executives alike. Key insights beyond the paradigm of statistical significance testing. Preferred Qualifications You could be an especially strong fit if you have: Demonstrated relevant experience in NLP, large language models, or generative AI. A strong programming background, with the ability to run simulations and model variations. Experience validating quantitative insights with qualitative methods (e.g., surveys, UXR).
