About the Job We are seeking an experienced Distributed Systems Engineer to join our Data Platform team at arenaflex. You will be responsible for designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems that enable our business to make data-driven decisions and drive growth. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and operate large-scale distributed systems that support our data platform and enable business growth Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and technical program management, to drive technical initiatives and solve complex problems Develop and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems that meet the needs of our business and customers Contribute to the development of open-source technologies and participate in industry-wide discussions and forums Work closely with our data infrastructure teams to design and implement data pipelines, data warehousing, and data analytics solutions Participate in on-call rotations and ensure the reliability and uptime of our distributed systems Essential Qualifications 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems or applications Strong proficiency in the design and development of RESTful web services Experience in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages Strong understanding of multi-threading and concurrency BS in Computer Science or a related field Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or GCP Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git Experience with data infrastructure technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data analytics Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of technical, business, and soft skills.
