Elementary School Teacher Position Description As an Elementary School Teacher at USN, you will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to the academic and social-emotional growth of our students. Your role will involve: Developing and internalizing rigorous, aligned curriculum with content and grade-level teams. Establishing and maintaining a joyful classroom and grade-level culture that promotes student engagement and achievement. Communicating student progress consistently with families to build authentic partnerships between school and home. Using data intelligently to drive improvement efforts and inform instruction. Implementing frequent feedback from colleagues and school leaders to grow as an educator. Designing systems that support the diverse needs of all learners. Qualifications and Skills To be considered for this role, you must: Hold a B.A./B.S. degree and be able to secure the appropriate teaching license. Be committed to using data-driven instructional practices and techniques outlined in Teach Like a Champion 3.0. Be relentless in writing, refining, and internalizing curriculum, lessons, and assessments. Be open to and committed to implementing frequent feedback from team members. Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues. Be comfortable with Google products for effective communication and completion of job responsibilities. Prior experience working in urban schools and/or communities is preferred, as it aligns with our mission and the context in which we work. Terms of Employment This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., although some job-related tasks may be expected outside these hours. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Compensation and Benefits The starting salary for a new teacher with a Bachelor's degree is $49,000. Salaries for other applicants will be determined based on professional experience and education level. In addition to a competitive salary, USN offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage. Eligibility to participate in the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS) or the School Employees Retirement System of Ohio (SERS).
