About the Job In this role, you'll be at the forefront of cross-team collaboration, serving as the go-to expert for accounting partners in the data and engineering spaces, creating a unique mix of responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Work cross-functionally with Technical Accounting, Functional Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and other stakeholders on policies, processes, and projects, and help drive key infrastructure initiatives and enhancements Create and design comprehensive accounting data requirements to facilitate the seamless automation of journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes Lead process improvement initiatives to further streamline revenue tasks and shorten the revenue close cycle Monitor data quality of journal entries prepared via the Revenue Subledger and design Data Quality checks for identified use cases through accounting requirements design, ad-hoc analyses, new product launches, etc. Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve our daily Revenue Reconciliation process and manage reconciliation investigations with the help of the analysis team Review new product plans presented during internal Financial Compliance Review meetings and assess impact on existing or need for new accounting requirements for the Revenue Subledger Cross-collaborate with partnering teams on the journal entry streams for new or existing products for automation via the Revenue Subledger Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including but not limited to: GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, asset reconciliations, review journal entries, and audit close package preparation Ad-hoc analyses and projects as assigned Requirements Essential Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analysis, and/or business intelligence Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition required; knowledge of IFRS an plus Intermediate/advanced SQL skills and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data, Python an plus Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing work environments Ability to engage with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and remotely Preferred Qualifications: Experience with data engineering and accounting domains Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and tools Excellent communication and interpersonal skills What We Offer Compensation and Benefits: Competitive hourly rate of $28/hour Comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan with company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, wellness benefits, paid time off, paid parental leave, and several paid holidays Opportunities for equity awards Career Growth and Learning: Opportunities for career advancement and professional growth Collaborative and dynamic work environment Access to training and development programs Company Culture: Diverse and inclusive work environment Commitment to fostering a culture of empathy and understanding Opportunities for networking and community engagement Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion At Blithequark, we're committed to building and empowering a more inclusive community within our organization, industry, and cities.
