Our team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible with data-driven solutions, and we are seeking a talented Lead Data Engineer to join our Information and Investigation group for Disney Web-based features (DSS). **Job Summary** As a Lead Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing data solutions that drive business growth and innovation. You will work closely with our Information Item Chiefs, Information Modelers, and Information Architects to develop and deploy scalable data architectures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with our cloud-based platforms. **Key Responsibilities** * Design and develop data warehousing solutions, including ETL pipelines in large data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid) * Develop and maintain data models for the core data warehouse and data shops * Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and data analysts to develop and deploy data solutions * Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of solutions to meet SLAs and support obligations to our clients (Data Science, Data Analysis teams) * Participate in agile/scrum practices to ensure team health and cycle improvements * Develop and maintain detailed documentation of work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance **Essential Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field * Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets * Experience with distributed systems like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data * Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala * Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) * Strong experience with data integration toolsets (i.e. Wind current) and writing and maintaining data pipelines * Strong understanding of data modeling strategies and data warehousing standard practices * Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2) * Strong experience with data visualization tools and technologies * Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence * Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles **Skills and Competencies** * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication and collaboration skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment * Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines * Strong understanding of data security and compliance principles **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** At blithequark, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
