You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements, design and implement data architectures, and develop scalable and efficient data pipelines. Your expertise in cloud-based technologies, data warehousing, and data science will enable you to drive business growth and improve customer experiences. **Key Responsibilities** * Design and develop data solutions that meet the evolving needs of our business, including data warehousing, data pipelines, and data science applications * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements, design and implement data architectures, and develop scalable and efficient data pipelines * Develop and maintain high-quality documentation of data solutions and changes to ensure data quality and data governance * Ensure high functional productivity and quality of solutions to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and support obligations to our clients (Information Science, Information Examination groups) * Participate in Agile/Scrum practices to ensure team well-being and cycle enhancements * Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improvement in data solutions **Essential Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field * 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or related field * Strong SQL skills and ability to write complex queries to extract insights from large datasets * Experience with distributed systems like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data * Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala * Experience with at least one major Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query) * Strong involvement in data integration toolsets (i.e. Wind current) and writing and maintaining data pipelines * Strong understanding of data modeling strategies and data warehousing standard practices and procedures * Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2) * Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles * Experience with data visualization tools and techniques * Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts and applications * Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams **Skills and Competencies** * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and creatively * Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams * Strong technical skills, with ability to design and develop data solutions using cloud-based technologies and data warehousing * Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles * Ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improvement in data solutions **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** As a Lead Data Engineer at blithequark, you will have opportunities to grow and develop your skills and expertise in a dynamic and innovative environment.
