As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for providing financial guidance and support to more experienced administrators, performing complex accounting tasks, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This is a full-time remote position, offering a competitive hourly rate of $25-$35 per hour. **Key Responsibilities** As a Full Stack Financial Accountant at blithequark, you will be responsible for: * Providing financial guidance and support to more experienced administrators on accounting-related matters * Performing complex accounting tasks, including preparing fiscal summaries and administrative reports * Accumulating and analyzing financial data for financial and administrative reports * Reviewing information from the general ledger, unit reports, and other financial systems to ensure accuracy * Preparing and auditing account reconciliations and confirmations * Investigating projects related to accounting strategies, techniques, or systems * Performing ongoing financial control activities in accordance with internal control policies * Providing practical guidance and training to colleagues on accounting-related matters * Offering support for consistency and risk management requirements * Collaborating and communicating with partners throughout the project **Required Capabilities** To be successful in this role, you will need: * 2+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, financial reporting, accounting detailing, or risk revealing, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, education, military experience * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and summarize complex data into actionable insights * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and partners * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Access * Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy **Preferred Capabilities** While not required, the following skills and experience would be highly valued: * 2+ years of SEC/administrative quarterly reporting experience; Fiserv data/knowledge * COSO-based Sarbanes-Oxley internal control assessment execution experience * Military experience or auditing experience, including functional management, project management, mission development management, and financial management * 1+ year of credit card industry reporting; corporate/business loan products knowledge * Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation * Experience with large 4/provincial public accounting/financial services * Proficiency in Essbase/SmartView, advanced Microsoft Excel with VLOOKUP/ pivot tables * Strong knowledge of US GAAP financial reporting or parts preparation, with the ability to interpret and summarize complex data into actionable insights * Demonstrated understanding of accounting/detailing/internal control issues * Ability to decipher and summarize complex data into reasonable, significant data and suggestions * High-level Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities **Why Join blithequark?** At blithequark, we value diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
