Remote, USA Full-time
About Us At Google, we're on a mission to organize the world's data and make it universally accessible and useful. Our team is a dynamic and innovative group of experts who combine the best of Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to create groundbreaking experiences. We explore, design, and develop innovations and equipment to make computing faster, more consistent, and more remarkable. Our goal is to improve people's lives through technology. Job Description We're seeking an experienced and highly skilled Full Stack Machine Learning ASIC Design Engineering Lead to join our team in California, USA. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing advanced AI-powered chips for Google's cloud infrastructure. If you're passionate about machine learning, AI, and hardware development, this is an exciting opportunity to join a team that's shaping the future of computing. Key Responsibilities Set technical directions for the team within the scope of technical lead and individual contributor. Engage with AI Framework Planners and Software groups to define specifications and implement machine learning using Etch, Verilog, and SystemVerilog. Engage with Check and Silicon Approval groups to ensure the functionality of the design. Perform power, area, and performance compromises of advanced designs and architectures. Apply design best practices (e.g., code review, testing, refactoring) to the design and execution of ASIC blocks. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A four-year college education in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. Four years of experience with ASIC design. Experience with RTL (Verilog) and chip configuration streams. Experience leading or driving a team. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications would be a plus: A graduate degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. Knowledge of accelerators (e.g., AI or GPUs) or similar high-performance architectures. Understanding of computer architecture/memory subsystem design. Understanding of power/performance/area compromises. About the Role Our computational challenges are so large, complex, and unique that we can't simply buy off-the-shelf equipment; we must design and build it ourselves. As an ASIC Design Engineering Lead, you'll work with a team of experts to design and develop the equipment, software, and systems that power Google's services. You'll create from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems through to high-volume manufacturing. Your work can shape the hardware that goes into our state-of-the-art data centers, impacting millions of Google users. Work Environment and Culture At Google, we're committed to creating a work environment that's inclusive, diverse, and supportive. We believe that our differences are our strengths, and we're dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work with talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, share your ideas, and learn from others. In addition to a comprehensive compensation package, we offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. We're committed to supporting our employees' well-being and providing opportunities for growth and development. As a member of our team, you'll have access to a range of training programs, mentorship opportunities, and career development resources. We believe that our employees are our greatest asset, and we're dedicated to supporting their growth and success.
