About the Role: Software Engineer As a Software Engineer at Blithequark, you will play a critical part in designing, developing, and maintaining our Open Connect platform. You will work on building cloud microservices, systems for live streaming, and services that enable cloud video games. Your expertise will help us optimize hardware utilization, ensure high-quality video delivery, and provide an exceptional viewer experience. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain cloud microservices that customers directly interact with when they press 'play' Build systems for making live streaming work efficiently and with resilience Develop services that are crucial for cloud video games to function seamlessly Work on load-balancing algorithms to optimize hardware utilization Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality video delivery and exceptional viewer experience Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real-time Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our platform The Open Connect Platform Our Open Connect platform is a complex system that requires innovative solutions to ensure high-quality video delivery. We focus on answering critical questions such as: How will we design our systems to react to failure, internet traffic shifts, and different adjustments in real-time? How do we steer traffic for live shipping over the backbone? How will we quality assure the most popular content to improve the consumer experience? What is the gold standard way to transfer petabytes of content into our machines to optimize their throughput? How must we design our streaming hardware given customer behavior? How do we choose the best server for every cloud game session?
