Job Overview As a Sr. Gear Engineer at arenaflex, you'll work closely with our Art, Design, and Engineering teams to identify workflow inefficiencies, pain points, and troubles in our development process. You'll collaborate with the team to generate candidate solutions, weigh tradeoffs given the problem context and development timetable, implement the selected solution, and help the adoption of the solution by the team. Your expertise will be instrumental in assisting, developing, and maintaining arenaflex's present set of engine-specific and custom gear that we use every day. Key Responsibilities Proactively identify inefficiencies and elaborate areas in our development technique across disciplines Maintain, extend, and aid present development gear Build and guide custom asset pipelines Grow arenaflex's proprietary libraries, tools, and technologies across game engines and structures Collaborate with the team to generate candidate solutions and implement the selected solution Help the adoption of the solution by the team and evaluate its effectiveness Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong passion for empowering others to do their best work. You should have experience with the overall device lifecycle, including coming across issues, comparing potential answers, implementing tools, and evaluating their effectiveness. You should also be comfortable working with custom standalone gear and enjoy growing gear that can be utilized by many game development disciplines. Technical Requirements Proficiency in C#, C++, Python, and other programming languages Experience with custom game engines, such as Unreal or Unity Knowledge of JavaScript and Net tech Ability to work effectively in a self-directed environment Preferred Qualifications While not required, experience with custom game engines, Unreal or Unity, and JavaScript and Net tech would be a significant advantage.
