As a Senior Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing technical support to the maintenance and operation of aircraft and related equipment. This position also involves establishing and maintaining aircraft and part standards within areas of responsibility. **What You'll Do** * Conducts training for Specialists in areas of expertise * Serves as a mentor to other Engineers * Acts as a team leader/facilitator over project management or issue resolution * Coordinates with manufacturers and regulatory specialists, as required, and ensures that Engineering practices are properly validated according to material standards and Company manuals * Develops customized methods and special procedures for repairs, modifications, inspections, adjustments, and other maintenance activities that are not adequately addressed in existing manuals * Remains informed about daily airline activities, including areas of responsibility. Reviews daily needs according to airline/departmental targets and management mandates * Examines aircraft/part issues that may cause flight delays or cancellations, significant uses in labor or materials, or breaks in maintenance activities, and determines appropriate corrective actions * Provides Engineering support as required to restore operational status of discrepant circumstances affecting aircraft or parts * Responds to requests from Maintenance and other airline divisions when technical support is required to assist tasks or resolve issues * Develops activity plans for fleet/multi-fleet and part Engineering projects and pursues completion according to evaluated needs * Coordinates with other airline divisions, as required, to facilitate effective and efficient execution of Engineering practices * Develops Engineering documents to implement technical practices by providing customized methods for repairs, modifications, inspections, or other maintenance activities that provide benefits according to airline/departmental targets and management mandates * Maintains knowledge of current and forthcoming regulations, which affect areas of responsibility and ensures that all Engineering activities maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements * Utilizes available resources to enhance levels of technical expertise and practical experience continuously.
