We are now seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as a Part-Time Statistics Analyst I, working remotely in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. About the Role As a Part-Time Statistics Analyst I at blithequark, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of sports data across various platforms, including television, online, and mobile. You will work closely with our Details and Investigation team to guarantee the precision of scores, schedules, standings, and other critical data points that power our products and creations. Key Responsibilities: Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and insightfulness of sports data distributed by the Details and Data team. Work individually and in teams to deliver detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time that power a wide range of blithequark products and creations. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Details and Data team's role in fueling blithequark's digital products and television creations. Review the quality of your own work and that of others, performing with a consistently high level of attention to detail. Contribute to production, operations, and initiatives across the newsroom, and support newsroom leaders who oversee full-time and part-time staff. Anticipate potential issues, both day-to-day and long-term, and propose possible solutions. Communicate quickly and clearly with colleagues on these issues. Play a proactive role in working with colleagues to develop or refine production processes. Be an active participant in team and division meetings. Seek and respond to feedback regarding individual performance. Stay informed about current office policies and procedures. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; advanced degree or equivalent preferred. Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of various sports. Full schedule availability, including evenings (only), weekends, and holidays. Ability to rapidly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data driving blithequark's digital and television products. Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production circumstances. Ability to communicate confidently - verbally and in writing - to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities. Preferred Qualifications: 1+ year of experience working in sports or statistics, ideally in media. Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes. Working knowledge of blithequark products and creations. Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products. Experience leading or training a team. Ability to speak and write Spanish. Experience using social media in a business or news environment.
