Experienced Full-Time Remote 988 Chat/Text Crisis Specialist – Mental Health Support and Suicide Prevention Expert

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated 988 Chat/Text Crisis Specialist to join our team. As a remote member of our 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention team, you will play a critical role in providing brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress. This is a full-time remote position, available to candidates based in the United States, Tennessee (USA), with a competitive salary range of $19.10-$26.80 per hour. Key Responsibilities Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals in crisis Answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources Conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide Meet the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation requirements Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings Assist in administrative tasks as needed Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field; or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Six months to one year of related crisis experience Effective communication skills via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods High-level customer service skills and professional etiquette Demonstrated knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources Knowledge of suicide assessments and skill in providing crisis intervention Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in a remote or virtual environment Familiarity with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL) and 988 services Training or certification in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, or mental health support Experience working with diverse populations and communities Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Strong technical skills, including proficiency in chat/text platforms and electronic health records Career Growth and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
