About the Job In this role, you will be at the forefront of cross-team collaboration, serving as the go-to expert for bookkeeping partners in the data and engineering spaces, creating a unique blend of liabilities. Key Responsibilities: Work cross-functionally with Technical Accounting, Functional Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and other stakeholders on policies, processes, and projects, and help drive key framework initiatives and improvements Develop and design comprehensive bookkeeping data requirements to facilitate the seamless automation of journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency in financial cycles Lead functional improvement initiatives to further streamline revenue tasks and shorten the revenue close schedule Monitor data quality of journal entries generated via the Revenue Subledger and design Data Quality checks for identified use cases through bookkeeping requirements design, ad-hoc investigations, new product launches, etc. Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve our daily Revenue Reconciliation process and manage reconciliation analysis with the help of the analytics team Review new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance meetings and evaluate the impact on existing or need for new bookkeeping requirements for the Revenue Subledger Cross-collaborate with collaborating teams on the journal entry streams for new or existing products for automation via the Revenue Subledger Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including but not limited to: GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, accounts receivable reconciliations, review journal entries, and review close package expectations Ad-hoc investigations and projects as assigned About You We are excited about you because you have: 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analysis, or business intelligence Solid knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition required; knowledge of IFRS a plus Intermediate/advanced SQL skills and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data, Python a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing environments Ability to engage with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Strong understanding of accounting principles, including US GAAP and revenue recognition Experience with data analysis and interpretation, including the use of SQL and Python Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify trends and insights Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a stronger candidate: Experience with data engineering and bookkeeping domains Knowledge of IFRS and other accounting standards Experience with automation tools and technologies, such as robotic process automation (RPA) Certifications in accounting or data analysis, such as CPA or CFA Skills and Competencies: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify trends and insights Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy and completeness in financial cycles Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities, with a strong focus on delivering results Strong technical skills, including proficiency in SQL, Python, and other data analysis tools Career Growth Opportunities: At blithequark, we are committed to supporting the career growth and development of our employees.
