As a Technician, IT Services, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of tasks, from troubleshooting and resolving tickets to contributing to desktop projects and supporting remote access for virtual private network connectivity. Key Responsibilities Resolves and closes tickets/work orders supporting end-user desktops and peripherals Answers client care issues raised from the Helpdesk, providing timely and effective solutions Contributes to desktop projects (global installs/upgrades) as a project team member, ensuring successful project execution Remotely diagnoses and resolves demands using remote tools, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity Investigates and collaborates with various departments to help with system-related issues, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration Documents client interactions in incident management system including asset management, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance Retrieves data from hard disk drives or performs data migration as needed, ensuring data integrity and availability Supports remote access for virtual private network connectivity as well as remote/broadband network for workstations, ensuring secure and reliable access Installs and configures local and network-based printers, ensuring seamless printing operations Performs preventive maintenance, identifying and addressing potential issues before they become major problems Works various shifts, occasions, ready to come in case of an emergency and travel as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability Follows management direction, complying with IT policy and procedure, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices Performs various duties as assigned, demonstrating a willingness to learn and take on new challenges Travels as required, expanding your horizons and gaining new experiences Essential Qualifications and Experience To succeed in this role, you'll need: An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience/training A minimum of 2 years of real-world 'hands-on' IT work experience supporting and troubleshooting various PC desktop software and hardware issues Firsthand experience supporting workstations in a Windows/TCP/IP environment, with a strong understanding of networking protocols and operating systems Preferred Qualifications and Experience While not mandatory, the following qualifications and experience are highly preferred: A+ certification, demonstrating your expertise in computer hardware and software MCSE/MCP or more, showcasing your advanced knowledge of Microsoft technologies Previous IT foundation experience in an Aircraft/Airport environment, providing a unique understanding of the industry's specific challenges and requirements Skills, Licenses, and Certificates To excel in this role, you'll need: General knowledge of all Windows-based operating systems, including Windows 10, with a strong understanding of their features and functionality Knowledge of workflow and with tagging systems, enabling you to efficiently manage and track IT requests Understanding of VPN connectivity and ability to troubleshoot issues, ensuring secure and reliable remote access Ability to work independently and act in a cooperative, team-based environment, demonstrating strong collaboration and communication skills Physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs, ensuring you can handle equipment and hardware as needed Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At American Airlines, we're committed to helping you grow and develop your skills.
