About the Client and the Project Our client, the State of Ohio, is seeking an experienced tester to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing release control processes, integrating with the release control process, and working with others to ensure the smooth execution of testing processes. The project involves working with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction's Project Management Office, where you will be responsible for creating test models, executing assembly or product tests, and meeting time estimates for assigned tasks. Key Responsibilities As a Jr QA Tester, your key responsibilities will include: Creating test models for product test and release control (plans, data, and scripts) Executing assembly or product tests Meeting time estimates for assigned tasks Communicating accurate status updates Following quality standards Working in a team environment to complete assigned tasks Defining product test plans and criteria for acceptance Resolving testing process questions/issues Assisting in the planning, creation, and control of the test environments Assisting the Team Lead in monitoring estimated time-to-complete (ETC) and actuals for assigned tasks Updating and testing release installation procedures Determining time estimates and schedule for work efforts Defining and utilizing entry/exit criteria for testing Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A 4-year college degree (preferred) Strong communication skills, both written and spoken Ability to work in a team environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Familiarity with software testing methodologies and tools Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience in software testing and quality assurance Knowledge of testing frameworks and methodologies Familiarity with agile development methodologies Experience working with remote teams Certifications in software testing or quality assurance Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Familiarity with software testing tools and methodologies Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits Our company is committed to providing opportunities for growth and development to our employees.
