We are now seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Record and Data Entry Clerk to join our Project Support team in our West Hempstead Office. As a key member of our Revenue Recovery Department, you will play a vital role in supporting our team in their mission to deliver exceptional results. Job Overview This is a full-time, hybrid position that offers a mix of remote and in-office work, with a flexible schedule of 2-3 days on and off. As a Project Associate, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our team of healthcare professionals, ensuring seamless operations and contributing to the success of our revenue recovery efforts. Key Responsibilities Retrieving patient medical records from various hospital systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the process Generating and preparing patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits, adhering to strict deadlines and quality standards Extracting and entering necessary information from/to hospital patient accounting systems, maintaining data integrity and confidentiality Making phone calls to post-acute healthcare facilities to obtain required information on patients, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills Running and creating reports, analyzing data, and identifying trends to support revenue recovery efforts Assisting with information gathering and data entry as needed by the recovery team, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks Scanning and indexing documents, maintaining organized and up-to-date records and files Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred Proven experience in data entry, medical records, or a related field, with a strong understanding of healthcare operations and revenue cycle management Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create complex spreadsheets, charts, and reports Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy and quality in work products Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Experience working in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of medical terminology and coding principles Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and hospital information systems Certification in medical records, health information management, or a related field Proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and PowerPoint Experience with data analysis and reporting tools, such as Tableau or Power BI Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Analytical skills : ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw conclusions Attention to detail : high degree of accuracy and quality in work products Communication skills : excellent verbal and written communication, with ability to interact with diverse stakeholders Organizational skills : ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines Technical skills : proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with ability to learn other software applications and systems Career Growth and Learning Opportunities At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
