About the Role This Network Engineer position is a critical part of the U.S. and Canada Engineering teams at blithequark, supporting the network infrastructure that spans several countries. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and deploying network infrastructure, performing hardware refreshes, and implementing remote access VPN solutions, among other key responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Design, configure, and deploy network infrastructure (LAN/WAN) for campus and data center environments Perform hardware refreshes, primarily focusing on Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls Implement remote access VPN solutions, site-to-site VPNs, GRE tunnels, and DMVPN Configure firewall access requests and complete routing changes as needed Rack, cable, and label equipment in the data center as required Create and maintain accurate diagrams and documentation of network infrastructure Work on ticket requests and provide on-shift outage escalation support from the NOC Participate in on-call support coverage to ensure seamless network operations Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following essential qualifications: CCNP certification or equivalent experience in network engineering Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders Thorough understanding of LAN and WAN technologies, including routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP Advanced troubleshooting and configuration experience with routing, switching, and firewalls Experience with Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches, as well as familiarity with VRF configurations Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience with SD-WAN and ACI technologies Familiarity with route redistribution and advanced networking concepts Previous experience working in a customer-facing environment, providing exceptional support and service Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong technical skills in network engineering, including design, configuration, and deployment of network infrastructure Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex network issues and develop effective solutions Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
