You'll work closely with our MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and sales and operations teams to implement strategies that increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality. This is a remote job opportunity that offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for career growth and development. **Key Responsibilities** * Support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of the ocean product by implementing strategies that increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality * Work closely with the MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and sales and operations teams to communicate direction and deliverables * Assist in implementing pricing programs, reviewing volume targets, and developing an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement * Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded * Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity; submit reports as required * Work with the MD of Ocean, along with the regional ocean management team, to promote the ocean product * Support sales and operations as needed * Manage annual budget; control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets * Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product **Essential Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent * At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, analyzing ocean rates, and routing * Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus * Familiar with Microsoft Office apps * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience in implementing pricing programs and developing ocean strategies * Knowledge of ocean carrier performance and competitive activity * Experience in managing annual budgets and controlling, monitoring, and reporting results * Familiarity with global trade lane teams and sales and operations teams **Skills and Competencies** * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines * Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps and other software applications **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** At blithequark, we're committed to providing our employees with opportunities for career growth and development.
