About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Online Fundamentals of Communication Adjunct Faculty to teach asynchronous online courses for our students. As an adjunct faculty member, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students, while also enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid teaching role that allows you to balance your time between our remote office and home. Key Responsibilities Effectively communicate course objectives, requirements, and expectations to students using weekly announcements. Facilitate interactive and dynamic online discussions, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Utilize appropriate technologies and online platforms to deliver course content and engage students effectively. Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments, papers, and class work to guide student learning and success. Maintain regular and consistent communication with students through online channels, such as email and discussion forums. Ensure adherence to course syllabus, academic policies, and established curriculum guidelines. Use innovative teaching strategies and resources to enhance student engagement and understanding of communication principles. Assess and evaluate student performance, including grading assignments, exams, and other assessments in a timely manner. Collaborate with other faculty members and participate in departmental meetings or training sessions as required. Provide support and guidance to students, addressing their academic needs and concerns promptly. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant data as per CCBC policies. Adhere to college policies, procedures, and ethical standards, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: A Master's degree in Communication, Communication Studies, Speech Communication, Speech, or a closely related field. A Master's degree in another discipline with at least 18 graduate credits in Communication, Communication Studies, Speech Communication, Speech, or a closely related field. Two (2) years prior teaching experience. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Experience in facilitating online learning classes (preferred). Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we prefer candidates who possess the following: Online learning training and certification. Experience with online learning platforms and technologies. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
