Job Overview As a Remote Part Time Customer Service Specialist at arenaflex, you will be the initial point of contact for patients, healthcare facilities, physicians, and clinical staff, facilitating patient healthcare needs and providing exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for answering a high volume of inbound calls, navigating our electronic health record system, and capturing and documenting demographic and financial information. Key Responsibilities Navigate the electronic health record to obtain and validate historical information, capture and document demographic and financial information, and maintain accountability for accurate data entry while ensuring patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA. Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call and providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations. Leverage critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity, researching complex issues and consulting/escalating to clinical staff when necessary. Schedule patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verify and update insurance, and collect and document demographics, maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions. Manage calls within established performance and customer service standards, achieving targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time, and communicating in a professional, positive, and respectful manner with patients, providers, arenaflex staff, and external organizations. Essential Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. 2-5 years of experience in customer service or healthcare, with recent experience preferred. Typing speed of minimum 35 wpm with 90% accuracy required. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, as this is a safety-sensitive position. Must live within 1 hour of St. Louis, Missouri. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a healthcare setting or with electronic health records. Knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions. Excellent communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide exceptional customer service. You will also need to be proficient in navigating electronic health records, capturing and documenting demographic and financial information, and maintaining accountability for accurate data entry.
