Job Overview As a Remote Customer Service Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service to our patients, healthcare providers, and facilities. You will be the initial point of contact and a liaison between patients, healthcare facilities, physicians, clinical staff, and practices, facilitating patient healthcare needs and ensuring seamless coordination of care. Key Responsibilities Navigate the electronic health record to obtain and validate historical information, capture and document demographic and financial information, and maintain accountability for accurate data entry while ensuring patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA. Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, resolving issues related to scheduling appointments, refilling medications, obtaining insurance referrals, receiving symptom-based care, and addressing insurance and billing questions. Leverage critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity, researching complex issues in the electronic health record and consulting/escalating to clinical staff when necessary. Schedule patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verify and update insurance, and collect and document demographics, maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions. Manage calls within established performance and customer service standards, achieving targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time, and providing excellent and consistent customer service in a variety of situations. Essential Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 2-5 years of experience in customer service or healthcare, with recent experience preferred Typing speed of minimum 35 wpm with 90% accuracy Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, as this is a safety-sensitive position Must live within 1 hour of St. Louis, Missouri Preferred Qualifications Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a customer-facing role Knowledge of electronic health records and insurance basics Excellent communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with patients, providers, and staff Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
