We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Part-Time Remote Customer Service Specialist to join our team, ensuring seamless patient experiences and supporting our mission to improve the health and well-being of our communities. About the Role As a Part-Time Remote Customer Service Specialist at Blithequark, you will serve as the initial point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, facilitating patient healthcare needs and providing exceptional customer service. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, utilizing electronic health records to validate and capture clinical and financial information, while contributing to the coordination of patient care. Key Responsibilities: Navigates electronic health records to obtain and validate historical information, capturing and documenting demographic and financial information while maintaining patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA. Manages a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to calls and providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations. Leverages critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for calls and take appropriate action based on caller needs and acuity, researching complex issues and consulting/escalating to clinical staff when necessary. Schedules patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verifies and updates insurance, checks insurance eligibility, collects and documents demographics, and maintains proficiency in insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions. Communicates directly with providers (physicians) to relay pertinent clinical information during after-hours, documents and sends messages to providers and clinical staff in the electronic health record for clinical-based needs. Manages calls within established performance and customer service standards, achieving targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time. Provides excellent and consistent customer service, communicating in a professional, positive, and respectful manner with patients, providers, Blithequark staff, and external organizations. Requirements and Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: 2-5 years of recent healthcare or customer service experience Typing Test: Minimum speed of 35 wpm, 90% accuracy Location: Must live within 1 hour of St. Louis, Missouri Schedule: 20 hours per week, Monday 8a-4:30p, Tuesday-Thursday 9a-12p, Friday 1p-4p (or M 8:30a-5p, T-F 1p-4p) No Weekends or Holidays Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in healthcare customer service or a related field Familiarity with electronic health records and patient registration systems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks What We Offer At Blithequark, we are committed to providing our team members with a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive work environment.
