As a part of blithequark, you'll be part of a collaborative, patient-centered environment that values innovation, teamwork, and continuous learning. **Job Summary** As a Part-Time Remote Customer Service Specialist, you'll be the initial point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, facilitating patient healthcare needs and providing exceptional customer service. You'll navigate our electronic health record system to validate and capture clinical and financial information, ensuring accurate data entry and maintaining patient privacy and security. Your critical thinking skills, speed, and accuracy will enable you to identify reasons for calls and take appropriate action, leveraging multiple job aids and resources to provide the highest level of service. **Responsibilities** * Navigate the electronic health record to obtain and validate historical information, capturing and documenting demographic and financial information in the electronic health record. * Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call and maintaining established performance and customer service standards. * Leverage critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify reasons for calls and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity. * Schedule patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verify and update insurance, and collect and document demographics. * Maintain proficiency in and share knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions. * Document and send messages to providers and clinical staff in the electronic health record for clinical-based needs. * Communicate directly with providers (physicians) to relay pertinent clinical information during after-hours. * Achieve targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time. * Provide excellent and consistent customer service in a variety of situations, communicating in a professional, positive, and respectful manner with patients, providers, blithequark staff, and external organizations. **Requirements** * High School Diploma or GED * 2-5 years of recent healthcare or customer service experience * No supervisor experience required * Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job * Typing test required (minimum speed 35 wpm, 90% accuracy) **Benefits and Perks** * Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and legal services available first day of the month after hire date * Disability insurance paid for by blithequark * Pension Plan/403(b) Plan funded by blithequark * 401(k) plan with blithequark match * Tuition Assistance available on first day * BJC Institute for Learning and Development * Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts * Paid Time Off benefit combines vacation, sick days, holidays, and personal time * Adoption assistance **Work Environment and Culture** As a remote Part-Time Customer Service Specialist, you'll enjoy a flexible schedule with no weekends or holidays.
