Job Summary We're seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Part-time Robotics Instructor to join our online team. As a Robotics Instructor, you'll have the opportunity to mentor students on the FIRST Tech Challenge, a highly acclaimed program that develops essential skills in STEM education. Work Schedule We're looking for a dedicated and flexible instructor who can commit to the following schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays: 2:40 PM - 3:30 PM (Eastern time) Wednesdays: 2:15 PM - 3:00 PM (Eastern time) Job Responsibilities As a Part-time Robotics Instructor, you'll be responsible for creating a safe and engaging learning environment for our students. Your key responsibilities will include: Creating a safe classroom environment conducive to learning Being punctual, reliable, and efficient to run an effective class Following curriculum, setting student goals, motivating, and guiding students to provide an enjoyable learning experience Monitoring student progress, advising students, and providing feedback and support to students as required to meet student outcomes and course objectives Working effectively with students, teachers, and parents to achieve course goals Providing feedback from classroom experience into curriculum development, instructional methods, objectives, and philosophy Maintaining an organized and clean classroom environment Working independently and being a self-starter Communicating via email and phone with us as needed Job Requirements To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following qualifications and skills: An associate or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Programming, or a related field; other majors with a background in coding and robotics are welcome to apply Current associate or college students are encouraged to apply Experience in the FIRST Tech Challenge is preferred Knowledge of one or more programming languages and robotics kits, including Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, C/C++, Scratch; LEGO robotics, RaspberryPi/Arduino Previous teaching or tutoring experience of the K-12 age group is preferred Very comfortable with technology and using computers Must be able to work with children and remain friendly, calm, and patient at all times Must be able to work in a classroom environment alongside teachers and/or independently Essential Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess the following essential skills and competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Ability to work with diverse groups of students, teachers, and parents Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Whizara, we're committed to supporting the growth and development of our instructors.
