About the Role We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Senior Tax Associate to join our remote team. As a Senior Tax Associate, you will play a key role in providing tax planning and preparation services to our clients. You will work closely with our team to deliver high-quality services, while also enjoying the flexibility and autonomy that comes with working remotely. Key Responsibilities Provide tax planning and preparation services to small businesses and startups, including individual and corporate tax returns. Conduct tax research and stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations. Prepare and review tax returns, including 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, and 990s. Communicate with clients to understand their tax needs and provide personalized service. Collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality services and meet client expectations. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on tax laws and regulations. Other tasks as assigned by the team leader. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in tax preparation and planning, preferably with a focus on small businesses and startups. Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including individual and corporate tax returns. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with clients and team members. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and resolve complex tax issues. Proficiency in tax software, including Intuit Proconnect and other accounting software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality services. Preferred Qualifications We are looking for candidates with: Experience with bookkeeping and CFO services, including financial statement preparation and analysis. Knowledge of payroll and sales tax, including setup and integration with accounting software. Experience with Excel pivot tables and vlookups, as well as other data analysis tools. HR or operations experience, including recruitment, training, and employee management. Experience with cloud-based accounting software, including QuickBooks Online and Xero.
