Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Patient Advocate Representative to join our Patient Support Department, where you will play a vital role in delivering first-class customer service to our patients. As the heart of our call center operations, you will be responsible for handling all tasks required to maintain patient satisfaction, ensuring accurate and timely shipping of reorders, and providing cross-functional support to all business units. Key Responsibilities Obtain and process authorizations for reorders, ensuring timely and accurate processing of patient requests Resolve patient issues and ensure accurate reorder processing via phone, document processing, and medical record validation Ensure patients have all required medical documentation to permit billing of services, maintaining up-to-date records and insurance information Maximize patient base through retention efforts and cross-selling via phone, identifying opportunities to enhance patient satisfaction and loyalty Handle inbound and outbound calls from patients, physicians, and referral sources, troubleshooting concerns, adding services, verifying insurance coverage, and explaining benefits to patients Audit configuration of supplies based on supporting documentation, formulary requirements, and manufacturer capabilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards Maintain a strong understanding of medical documentation, insurance requirements, and company procedures, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices Maintain a high degree of confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and protecting sensitive patient information Maintain regular, predictable, consistent attendance and be flexible to meet the needs of the department, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional patient care Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent, with a strong foundation in customer service and communication Customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or call center environment, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional patient care Proficient computer literacy, including strong keyboarding skills and the ability to key data accurately while maintaining strong listening skills Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously Exceptional phone and email etiquette, with a professional and courteous demeanor in all interactions Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous experience in a patient-centric environment, with a deep understanding of patient needs and concerns Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance requirements, and company procedures, with a strong foundation in healthcare operations Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare software applications, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, physicians, and other stakeholders Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and develop creative solutions Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high volume of calls and interactions, while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
