As a Patient Benefits Advisor, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve this mission, working closely with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure seamless care coordination. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Patient Benefits Advisor to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a Patient Benefits Advisor, you will be responsible for assisting patients in understanding their insurance benefits, verifying coverage, and coordinating benefits to ensure they receive the proper care without financial barriers. Key Responsibilities Verifying insurance coverage, coordinating benefits, and providing support to ensure patients receive the proper care without financial barriers. Verify patient medical insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services or procedures. Obtain accurate information regarding medical insurance coverage information from insurance companies. Consult with patients about their insurance benefits, copays, deductibles, out-of-pocket expenses, and payment options. Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve benefit-related issues and ensure timely payment. Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in patient advocacy. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: One year of healthcare or medical call center experience, with a strong understanding of medical benefits, medical insurance, and prescriptions. Benefit verification and prior authorization experience. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality guidelines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex insurance systems and resolve benefit-related issues. A verifiable high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications We also welcome candidates with: Experience working in a patient advocacy or healthcare setting. Knowledge of medical billing and coding principles. Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management systems. Fluency in multiple languages, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
