The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our Sustainability and Renewable Energy team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in helping Netflix achieve its public environmental goals, including reducing our emissions by half by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by investing in nature-based solutions to capture carbon. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Head of Sustainability and Operations, you will work closely with senior colleagues to manage the company's investments in carbon credits and renewable energy, including: Maintaining a fair, diverse portfolio of high-quality carbon credits, which is essential for our second public environmental goal Negotiating purchase agreements that help project developers offer new, high-quality credits for sale in regions called for by climate science (e.g., blue carbon) Reviewing the quality of carbon credits against our 5 screening criteria (p19 of our ESG report) Negotiating reasonable pricing directly with project developers Matching the volume of tons retired in a given year to the annual carbon footprint Contributing to scientific and NGO-led efforts to scale high-quality credit sources and acquisition practices (e.g., BASCS) Supporting renewable energy purchases, ranging from annual EAC purchases to project-specific investment opportunities: Negotiating and leading competitive acquisitions (RFIs/RFPs) Communicating with vendors and project developers Conducting direct emissions analysis and incorporating procurement recommendations for executive consideration Collaborating with finance teams to conduct project-level financial analysis Maintaining data tracking and systems to ensure required annual footprint and emissions reductions accounting Essential Qualifications 4 years of experience in carbon credit procurement 2+ years of experience in renewable energy procurement (knowledge of voluntary RE markets is a plus) 2+ years of experience in purchasing, negotiating, and executing deals in carbon credits and/or renewable energy Experience working with the carbon credit and renewable energy networks (alliances, research groups, policymakers, vendors, third-party certifiers, etc.) Demonstrated expertise with the best third-party standards responsible for ensuring additionality, permanence, non-leakage, conservative baselines, and no double counting Experience in portfolio management of: Carbon credits in both reductions and removals, with an emphasis on nature-based solutions of high integrity and optimal 'co-benefits' (e.g., community jobs, water, biodiversity) Renewable energy projects, including direct procurement, utility-based supply projects, and bundled and unbundled credits Preferred Qualifications A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, business, or engineering Professional certifications, such as CFA, CPA, or LEED AP Experience working with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and communications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop creative solutions Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of technical, business, and interpersonal skills, including: Strong knowledge of carbon credit and renewable energy markets, including market trends, pricing, and regulatory frameworks Experience with data analysis and financial modeling, including the ability to interpret complex data and develop creative solutions Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Netflix, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
