About the Role and Its Impact As a Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist in this specialized field, your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring that our data platform is robust, secure, and compliant with healthcare standards. Core Responsibilities and Expectations Test Planning and Strategy: Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies that align with project goals and healthcare regulations, defining the scope, objectives, and criteria for testing activities. Test Design and Execution: Design detailed test cases and scenarios based on functional and non-functional requirements, executing various types of testing (functional, regression, integration, performance, security, and user acceptance testing). Automation: Identify opportunities for test automation and implement automated test scripts to improve efficiency and coverage, maintaining and updating the automation framework. Compliance and Regulatory Testing: Ensure that the software complies with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR), conducting validation and verification activities to meet regulatory standards. Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects using a defect management system, working closely with development teams to resolve issues promptly. Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing to ensure the software can handle high volumes of data and concurrent users, analyzing performance test results and recommending optimizations. Security Testing: Perform security testing to identify vulnerabilities and ensure data protection, collaborating with security teams to address any identified issues. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, providing clear and concise test reports and communicating test results and risks to stakeholders. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest testing tools, techniques, and industry trends, continuously improving testing processes and methodologies. Mentoring and Leadership: Mentor junior QA team members and provide guidance on best practices, leading QA initiatives and contributing to the overall quality strategy. Interoperability: Ensure the data platform can seamlessly integrate with other healthcare systems and applications. Scalability: Test the platform's ability to scale and handle large datasets, as healthcare data can be extensive. User Experience: Focus on the usability and accessibility of the platform to ensure a positive experience for healthcare professionals and patients. Compliance: Be knowledgeable about healthcare regulations and standards to ensure the platform meets all necessary compliance requirements. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: Essential Qualifications: Experience in software testing, preferably in the healthcare industry. Strong understanding of testing principles, methodologies, and tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP, Test Complete). Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) and security testing tools (e.g., OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite). Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr). Certifications in software testing or related fields (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).
