By partnering with schools and community organizations, we strive to create a supportive learning environment that fosters academic success and social growth. **Job Description** As a Minnesota Reading Corps Literacy Tutor, you will play a vital role in helping students build their reading skills and confidence. Your primary responsibilities will include: * Working one-on-one with students in Kindergarten through Grade 3, providing personalized support and guidance to help them develop essential reading skills * Using research-based literacy interventions to help students build their reading skills and confidence * Collaborating with teachers and other educational professionals to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning environment * Participating in comprehensive training and online modules to develop your skills and knowledge in literacy strategies and best practices * Reporting directly to the Internal Coach/Site Supervisor and Regional Program Manager to ensure seamless communication and coordination **Key Qualifications and Skills** To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills: * High School diploma or GED * Must be 18 years of age * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Strong interest in education and literacy * Experience working with children, preferably as a literacy tutor * Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently * Ability to make a commitment to complete a year of service * Prefer college coursework, college degree, or equivalent work experience **Preferred Qualifications and Skills** While not required, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable: * College coursework or degree in education, literacy, or a related field * Experience working in a school or educational setting * Familiarity with research-based literacy interventions and best practices * Strong organizational and time management skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team **Training and Support** As a Minnesota Reading Corps Tutor, you will receive comprehensive training and support to ensure your success in this role.
