About the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) was established to support and advance the development of vaccines, therapeutics, diagnostics, and innovative technologies for use during public health emergencies. BARDA's mission is to develop and procure medical countermeasures, including vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics, to protect against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats. As a Regenerative Medicine Sciences and Medical Product Development Subject Matter Expert, you will play a critical role in supporting BARDA's mission and contributing to the development of life-saving medical countermeasures. Key Responsibilities As a Regenerative Medicine Sciences and Medical Product Development Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for: Supporting BARDA Program Office(s) as a subject matter expert in the fields of Chemical Threats, Radiological/Nuclear Threats, Burn and Blast Injuries, or Biological Threats (including viral and bacterial threats), Influenza and Emerging Infectious Diseases Division (IEIDD) Providing expertise in the research, development, manufacture, and regulatory approval/ licensure/ clearance of medical countermeasures against these threats, including but not limited to diagnostics and other medical devices/infrastructure, vaccines, and other preventives, and therapeutics Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive the development of medical countermeasures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in regenerative medicine and medical product development, and applying this knowledge to inform decision-making and drive innovation Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and academic institutions Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A graduate degree (either an MD, Ph.D., or PharmD) in a relevant field, such as regenerative medicine, clinical sciences, biochemistry, life or biomedical sciences, biomedical/tissue engineering, or a relevant discipline A minimum of 15 years of clinical practice, surgical and/or pharmaceutical industrial experience, and extensive training in the relevant field Expertise in the field of wound healing, regenerative medicine, as applicable to clinical sciences and medical product development The ability to obtain a public trust clearance Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Expertise in products relevant to one or more fields, such as chronic wounds, burn care, trauma, internal medicine, via work experience on aspects like imaging or biologics or drugs, combination products Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Technical expertise : A deep understanding of regenerative medicine and medical product development, including the latest advancements and trends in the field Collaboration and teamwork : The ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including government agencies, industry partners, and academic institutions Communication and interpersonal skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders Adaptability and flexibility : The ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Problem-solving and analytical skills : Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and inform decision-making Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At LMI Government Consulting, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
