About the Role We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Remote Call Center Customer Service Representative to join our team at blithequark. As a Medicaid Member Support Specialist, you will be the initial point of contact for inquiries from potential and existing Iowa Medicaid Program recipients and affiliates. Your primary responsibility will be to provide one-to-one telephone contact with applicants, beneficiaries, and enrollees in customer service roles, ensuring that their needs are met with empathy, understanding, and professionalism. Your key responsibilities will include: Acting as the initial point of contact for inquiries from potential and existing Iowa Medicaid Program recipients and affiliates Providing one-to-one telephone contact with applicants, beneficiaries, and enrollees in customer service roles Accurately documenting enrollment requests and status changes Entering application and enrollment information into a web-based computer system for customers wishing to apply for the program over the telephone Maintaining technical and program policy proficiency in the Iowa Family Care rules/guidelines and other related program policies Providing clear, complete, accurate, and objective information based on a full understanding of program requirements Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Basic understanding of a call center environment in a customer service role and quality monitoring processes Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with applicants, beneficiaries, and co-workers Ability to problem-solve through analysis and ongoing feedback Achieve results through knowledge, empathy, and commitment Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds High School diploma or GED Background check required Must reside within 1 hour driving distance from Des Moines, IA Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be highly regarded: Previous experience in a call center or customer service environment Knowledge of Medicaid programs and policies Excellent typing and grammar skills Ability to navigate a computer and utilize software applications Ability to understand and utilize policy and procedures Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette Reliable internet access Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document information Ability to work independently and as part of a team Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our associates.
