Job Overview: Remote Crisis Counselor Role As a Remote Crisis Counselor at blithequark, you will play a vital role in providing emotional support and crisis intervention to individuals in need. Working from the comfort of your own home, you will maintain HIPAA compliance and focus, requiring a private office space. Your primary responsibilities will include speaking with consumers over the phone, connecting with people experiencing emotional distress or mental health issues, and building rapport and client engagement. Key Responsibilities: Assess and mitigate risk while managing documentation during calls Provide available resources or information needed to support individuals in crisis Identify safe, positive ways of coping and/or develop a safety plan Implement emergency intervention when necessary Remain calm and professional while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year accredited college or university and have at least 1 year of experience in 988 chat and text crisis intervention. You must also reside in one of the following states: WA, OR, AZ, NM, MI, KS, IL, IN, GA, NC, MN, MD, TN, PA, OH, AL, or CO. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a crisis intervention or mental health setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and protocols Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and regulations Skills and Competencies: To excel in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
