Key Responsibilities As a Remote Data Entry Clerk at blithequark, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our digital data. Your primary responsibilities will include: Transferring data from paper formats to computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners. Entering data provided directly by customers in a timely and accurate manner. Creating spreadsheets with a large number of figures without errors, utilizing advanced formulas and functions. Verifying data by comparing it with source documents to ensure accuracy and completeness. Updating existing data to reflect changes, corrections, or new information. Retrieving data from the database or electronic files as requested by senior team members or management. Performing regular backups to ensure data preservation and prevent loss. Sorting and organizing paperwork after data entry to ensure data is not lost or compromised. Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills: Essential Qualifications: Demonstrated experience as a data entry clerk, preferably in a remote or hybrid work environment. Fast typing ability, with a minimum of 40 words per minute; knowledge of touch typing system preferred. Excellent knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet tools, including MS Office Word, Excel, and other similar applications. Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices. Basic knowledge of databases and data management principles. Good command of English, both oral and written, with strong customer service skills. Strong attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy and precision. High school diploma or equivalent required. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working in a data entry role within a similar industry or sector. Familiarity with data confidentiality principles and best practices. Experience with data management software and tools, such as data recorders or optical scanners. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
