We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Remote Data Entry Clerk to join our team, working 100% remotely and contributing to the success of our document management operations. Key Responsibilities As a Remote Data Entry Clerk at blithequark, you will be responsible for creating, receiving, processing, maintaining, retrieving, and retiring shipping records, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and efficiency. Your duties will include: Receiving and distributing paper shipping records, electronic data files, and electronic data uploads, utilizing a variety of software and systems. Recording information in logs and automated tracking systems, as well as other electronic information or record-keeping systems, concerning files, including adding, deleting, updating, modifying, and correcting tracking records. Scanning files, checking files in and out, transferring files, retiring files, and recycling files, among other tasks, to maintain the integrity and organization of our records. Researching information systems and finding aids to identify and locate files, demonstrating a strong understanding of numerical, alphabetical, and chronological sequencing. Identifying, organizing, describing, and labeling record materials as necessary, ensuring compliance with records policy and filing techniques. Interfiling documents into files, re-filing sections, creating new file sections physically and on the electronic system, labeling files, and attaching bar code labels to them, as well as scanning documents and creating electronic file folders. Retrieving files and processing them for delivery to requestors, providing exceptional customer service and support. Maintaining files, including removing duplicate copies of records, preparing substitute closure forms when missing, replacing worn or improperly labeled folders, and redistributing files on the shelves. Preparing files for transfer to other units or for retirement to the federal records center by labeling, listing, boxing, and otherwise processing them, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Conducting regular shelf reading and other quality control inventories of files being maintained in all paper and electronic formats, identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements. Performing other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and requirements. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in basic skills and knowledge. 6+ months of on-the-job experience using a computer terminal, a scanner, and electronic document management tools and software, showcasing proficiency in technology and data entry. A valid driver’s license, indicating a level of responsibility and reliability. Background check is required, ensuring the highest level of integrity and trustworthiness. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: EPA Records Clerk experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of environmental records management and compliance. Knowledge of filing procedures and techniques, including numerical, alphabetical, and chronological sequencing. Ability to maintain files, including the ability to interpret and apply records policy and filing techniques in a variety of situations. A firm grasp of knowledge of numerical, alphabetical, and chronological sequencing, ensuring accurate and efficient data entry and records maintenance. Ability to type proficiently, with strong keyboarding skills and attention to detail. Ability to work individually and in teams, interacting tactfully with government staff and other stakeholders. Ability to read, write, and speak English, understanding and following procedures and instructions with ease. Demonstrated ability to deal simultaneously and calmly with several crises, determining the relative importance of each and prioritizing tasks accordingly. Demonstrated ability to recognize important users of the service and to accord them priority attention, providing exceptional customer service and support.
