Key Responsibilities As a Customer Care Specialist at arenaflex, your primary responsibility will be to handle incoming calls from members regarding their prescription benefits. This includes answering questions about copays, medication coverage, and prior authorization processes. Your goal will be to provide accurate and timely information to our members, while also educating them on how to best utilize their benefits. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Understanding and communicating client-specific prescription benefit and pharmacy claim processing information, including formularies, clinical programs, and member out-of-pocket costs Troubleshooting pharmacy claims in real-time, verifying information submitted by pharmacies, and entering allowed overrides to ensure claims are processed correctly Sending documents to providers electronically and following up with members through outbound calls as necessary Anticipating and addressing questions to prevent repeat calls and reduce customer effort Treating all customers with respect and empathy, while protecting their personal health information and adhering to all HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements Delivering relevant information in a timely and clear manner, ensuring customer understanding and satisfaction Utilizing resources consistently to incorporate changes in our fast-paced environment and adapting to fluctuations in workload Effectively working and communicating with internal teams, such as other Customer Care team members, Prior Authorization, and Manual Claims Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: 2 years of prior medical customer service experience, with a strong understanding of pharmacy benefits and prescription claim processing Excellent phone etiquette and typing skills, with a minimum of 40 words per minute and 500 keystrokes per hour Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet navigation, with the ability to review documents and utilize online resources Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to hear and translate customer needs into correct resolution steps Ability to navigate systems efficiently and effectively while speaking with customers, balancing quality with speed Ability to identify root causes of problems and use resources to solve them independently Reliability, including maintaining your schedule, consistently positive attitude, and professional behavior at all times Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a stronger candidate for this role: Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with the ability to self-motivate and manage your time effectively Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements, with a strong understanding of how to protect personal health information Experience working with electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare software systems Certification in customer service or a related field, such as Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or Certified Medical Customer Service Representative (CMCSR) Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and internal teams Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes of problems and develop effective solutions Ability to adapt to change and navigate complex systems and processes Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately document customer interactions and maintain confidentiality Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
