About the Role: Specialist II, Revenue Accounting This is an exciting opportunity to join our Revenue Accounting Group within the Finance Division at American Airlines. As a Specialist II, Revenue Accounting, you will play a critical role in performing essential accounting functions across various Revenue Accounting areas. If you're detail-oriented, have a passion for numbers, and are looking for a challenging yet rewarding role, this could be the perfect fit for you. Key Responsibilities: Perform fundamental accounting functions, including reviewing accounting data, processing discount claims, handling check requests, and managing journal vouchers across different Revenue Accounting areas such as payments received, billings, and tickets issued/used. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies promptly, including communication with external contacts when necessary, to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Complete data entry of accounting information into our systems, ensuring high levels of accuracy and efficiency. Adjust and review daily passenger ticket and ancillary discount requests, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Distribute and store month-end closing reports, maintaining organized records and supporting audit processes. Perform various ad-hoc tasks as assigned by your supervisor/manager to support the department's/company's achievement of goals and business objectives. Requirements for Success Essential Qualifications: High School diploma or GED Equivalency. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and resolve issues efficiently. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field, or equivalent training/experience. Aviation/travel industry accounting experience, which would be a significant plus.
