Purpose and Scope of the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Seasonal Part-Time Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for receiving, investigating, and responding to all member inquiries, resolving member problems and/or complaints in a timely and accurate manner. Your exceptional communication skills, empathy, and problem-solving abilities will enable you to provide outstanding customer service, driving the blithequark culture through our values and customer service standards. Job Specifics This is a seasonal part-time role, offering a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team and gain valuable experience in the healthcare administration industry. The schedule consists of 20 hours per week, with two 8-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, and an additional 4-hour shift during peak business hours. The duration of the role is from October 2024 to January 2025, with no long-term planned time off during the assignment. Key Responsibilities and Duties Answer and track telephone calls within established department standards Track all existing member calls within the database, ensuring concise and factual documentation Develop a thorough understanding of all lines of business benefits, medical management processes, demographic change processes, and procedures for changing Primary Care Physicians (PCP) Respond to "entry-level" claims inquiries and take "Over the Counter" (OTC) orders for products and diabetic supplies Understand and process "entry-level" enrollment and disenrollment procedures, entering prospective members into our software database Maintain current source documents and reference documents, interacting professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments, while also working independently and communicating with other employees and organizations as needed Re-direct calls to the appropriate department as required Customer Service Excellence As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be accountable for delivering outstanding customer service to all external and internal contacts. Your ability to develop and maintain positive relationships through effective and timely communication, taking initiative to respond, resolve, and follow up on customer service issues, will be essential in driving our culture and values. You will be expected to provide thoughtful, prompt resolution with empathy, poise, and a consistent voice, with the ongoing goal of establishing a positive customer experience. Education, Experience, and Required Skills To be successful in this role, you will need: Ability to read and interpret documents, calculate figures and amounts, and possess strong typing skills (40-60WPM) Excellent oral and written communication skills, including good grammar, voice, and diction Proficient in MS Office, with basic computer and keyboarding skills Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly, courteous, and helpful approach High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, with a minimum of six months to one year of related experience An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered What We Offer At blithequark, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment, where you can grow, learn, and thrive.
