About the Role and Responsibilities As a Senior Analyst at American Airlines, you will be an integral part of our Information Technology Group, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive business success. Your primary responsibilities will include: Utilizing state-of-the-art technology to solve complex business problems and improve our operations Collaborating with stakeholders, business analysts, project managers, IT designers, technical leads, and engineers to understand requirements and develop solutions Maintaining and enhancing existing enterprise services, applications, and platforms using domain-driven design and test-driven development Troubleshooting complex issues, identifying, and implementing solutions Creating detailed project specifications, requirements, and estimates Exploring and implementing new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance Supporting the development of coding standards and adhering to best practices and security guidelines Working closely with software engineers and technical leads to ensure decisions meet long-term project growth needs Essential Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training At least 2 years of full Programming Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications in hosted production environments 2 years of professional, design, and open-source experience Strong skills in Full Stack Development, including proficiency in technologies such as J2EE, Java, JSP, JMS, JAXB, JDBC, EJB, and database and query languages like SQL, Oracle, and Postgres Experience with cloud-based development, web servers, web services, and front-end technologies like Angular JS, Ext JS, CSS, jQuery, and AJAX Familiarity with build/deployment tools like Maven, Gradle, Git, Junit, and Mockito Knowledge of DevOps Toolchain, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment Preferred Qualifications and Experience While not essential, the following qualifications and experience are highly desirable: A Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training Additional years of experience in Programming Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and professional, design, and open-source experience Carrier industry experience Certifications or licenses in relevant technologies or areas of expertise Skills and Competencies Required for Success To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and quality Adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and processes Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At American Airlines, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
