Job Overview and Responsibilities We are seeking an experienced Senior Analyst or Manager to join our team in a work-from-home capacity. As a key member of our risk management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to mitigate credit risk and prevent fraud. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and assess risks, develop predictive models, and implement controls to minimize losses. Your expertise will help us to enhance our client experience, drive business growth, and maintain our position as a leader in the financial services industry. Develop and implement credit risk management strategies to minimize losses and optimize profitability Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and assess risks, develop predictive models, and implement controls Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform risk management decisions Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including business leaders, risk managers, and external partners Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging risks to ensure our risk management strategies remain effective Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills: Postgraduate degree (e.g., MS, PhD, or MBA) in a quantitative field, such as Econometrics, Statistics, Math, Operations Research, Engineering, or Computer Science Experience in credit risk management, fraud prevention, or a related field, with a strong understanding of credit lifecycle and risk management principles Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop predictive models Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders Proficiency in programming languages, such as SAS, SQL, R, Python, or similar technologies Strong business acumen, with the ability to think strategically and drive business outcomes Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred: Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with the ability to self-manage and work independently Knowledge of industry-leading risk management tools and technologies, such as credit scoring models and fraud detection systems Experience working with cross-functional teams, including business leaders, risk managers, and external partners Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At American Express, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
